Training Description
The Specific Operation Risk Assessment (SORA) is a crucial process that operators must undertake before conducting operations with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in the “specific” category. Only after completing the risk assessment and selecting mitigation measures can the operation commence.
In the theoretical part of the training, candidates will familiarize themselves with the process of executing all 10 steps of the SORA process. This will enable them to create a risk assessment and SORA form, which must be submitted as part of the application for obtaining operational permission.
During the practical part of the course, candidates will develop a risk assessment tailored to their specific area of operation.
Training Methodology
The training is divided into theoretical and practical components. The theoretical portion takes place in the classroom at our training center, while the practical component is conducted at a training field located approximately 5 minutes away from the training center. A meal is included in the course fee.
The first two days of the training are typically conducted together. On the third day, candidates undergo both theoretical and practical knowledge assessments, which occur 10-14 days after the completion of the first day. During this time, participants independently acquire the skills necessary to operate unmanned aerial systems, which are required for the practical portion of the exam.
Equipment
The use of unmanned aerial systems for the practical training segment is included in the course fee. Candidates are also welcome to use their own unmanned aerial systems (recommended).
